Your role will play a crucial part in community protection across Ottawa.
The Ottawa Safety Council seeks compassionate individuals for the 2026–2027 school year. The position entails directing and escorting pedestrians, communicating vital safety information, and monitoring traffic conditions. We're open to applicants from all walks of life, including students and retirees, to foster a diverse workforce.
Key Responsibilities:
• Stop traffic to assist students crossing safely
• Communicate safety and crossing rules effectively
• Observe and report unsafe conditions at intersections
• Maintain alertness and professionalism on duty
• Record license plates of unsafe drivers for reporting
Requirements:
• Smart Phone with data plan mandatory
• CPR C certification and First Aid (asset)
• Valid Driver’s License preferred
• Clear communication skills in English
• Ability to perform physical duties for extended periods
