Our Accounts Receivable department plays a key role in maintaining this system by managing cash flow and collecting payments from clients. We are seeking a detail‑oriented and skilled financial professional to join our team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for processing, tracking, and recording payments with accuracy and efficiency, ensuring that our financial transactions are timely, organized, and align with our company goals.

Objectives of this role
  • Optimize Financial Systems:
    Perform reconciliation of payments and customer accounts to enhance financial transaction processes.
  • Client Communication:
    Address discrepancies with the management team, identify slow‑paying clients, and recommend collection candidates.
  • Strengthen Client Relationships:
    Build and maintain positive relationships by communicating with clients regarding overdue accounts.
  • Self‑Starter:
    Assist in streamlining the accounts receivable process by identifying areas for operational efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance:
    Maintain integrity and confidentiality in financial reporting, ensuring adherence to national and local financial regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Gather and verify credit notes and adjustments to ensure accurate documentation before processing payments.
  • Maintain up-to-date accounts receivable records, including aging reports, credit applications, and resolution of uncollectible amounts.
  • Perform daily cash management tasks, including cash drawer, updating cash receipt logs and posting cash to the accounts receivable sub‑ledger.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and contact clients via telephone, email, mail, or in‑person to collect payments.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly statements and weekly invoices.
  • Manage credit policies, including investigating new customers, approving credit terms, and reviewing credit limits.
  • Participate in year‑end inventory count and closing of fiscal year.
  • Prepare documents for Québec legislation related to commercial job openings, ensuring compliance with Declarations.
  • Provide partial or full discharge letters to property owners as required.
  • Other duties as assigned and required to meet the needs of the business.
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications
  • Strong mathematical abilities, attention to detail, and a high degree of accuracy in financial reporting.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • Basic understanding of finance, accounting, and bookkeeping principles.
  • Excellent time management skills and an eye for detail.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities to handle overdue accounts.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of company and client information.
  • Experience with accounting ERP systems such as Epicor, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of the Construction Lien Act and Quebec Construction Act is an asset.
Education
  • Educational background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration, or 2+ years of relevant experience in accounts receivable.
