Card Fraud Investigations Associate

Investigate card fraud and disputes at Wealthsimple, using transaction analysis and empathy. This hybrid team role protects clients’ everyday spending.

As a Fraud Investigator, you will specialize in card fraud and disputes within Wealthsimple’s Security & Risk group. You will analyze authorization data, authentication methods, and digital footprints to distinguish true fraud from friendly fraud or commercial disputes. The work combines Visa and Mastercard rules, chargebacks, client communication, and precise case management.

• Investigate unauthorized transactions and card dispute claims
• Evaluate 3DS, Apple Pay, Chip & PIN, and digital footprints
• File chargebacks under Visa and Mastercard dispute rules
• Guide clients through timelines and dispute outcomes
• Manage cases within internal and regulatory SLAs

• Minimum one year of direct fraud or disputes experience
• Card chargebacks or Visa and Mastercard rules knowledge
• Understanding of fraud frameworks, controls, and prevention systems
• Ability to analyze datasets precisely and accurately
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
