ABOUT

THE ROLE

The Sr. Manager of Government Affairs, Canada will lead Amrize’s federal and provincial advocacy strategy, stakeholder engagement, and public affairs execution across Canada. This role will serve as the senior Government Affairs leader for Canada, supporting the full Amrize enterprise—from core building materials to building envelope—by advancing pro-growth policy outcomes, protecting market access, and strengthening Amrize’s license to operate. This position will build and manage relationships with Canadian decision-makers, align internal business leaders around priority issues, and drive measurable outcomes across procurement, infrastructure, housing, industrial competitiveness, and permitting/regulatory matters.

WHAT

YOU’LL ACCOMPLISH
  • Lead Amrize’s federal and provincial government affairs strategy, including engagement plans, policy priorities, and advocacy campaigns aligned to business growth and operational needs.
  • Represent Amrize with Ministers’ offices, Members of Parliament, provincial Premiers’ offices, and key political and policy staff.
  • Build strong working relationships with federal departments and agencies relevant to Amrize, including those responsible for infrastructure, housing, industry, trade, environment, transportation, and procurement.
  • Advance policy outcomes that support domestic manufacturing, local-to-local supply chains, and resilient construction delivery across Canada.
  • Engage on “Buy Canadian” / “Build Canada Strong” procurement frameworks and related definitions impacting construction materials and building products.
  • Support policy priorities that accelerate infrastructure delivery, improve permitting certainty, and enable investment in Canadian manufacturing capacity.
  • Monitor and influence provincial regulatory developments affecting Amrize operations, including environmental permitting, land use, transportation, industrial policy, and construction standards.
  • Strengthen Amrize’s reputation and relationships with key external stakeholders, including industry associations, chambers of commerce, Indigenous partners, NGOs, and community leaders.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviours.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Bachelor’s degree. Master’s degree preferred in Public Policy, Political Science, Law, Economics, Business, Communications, or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, political strategy, or related leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success influencing federal and/or provincial policy outcomes in Canada and a strong understanding of Canadian government processes, regulatory environments, and stakeholder landscapes.
