Job Description

ADGA is hiring a Military Simulation Training Exercise Planner to join our growing team!

If you have retired from the Royal Canadian Air Force (or other branch) at the rank of Sergeant to Captain, or in any type of military leadership role where you coordinated movements and logistics for personnel on a training exercise, you might be interested in this role!!

It’s part of a multi-year contract that ADGA holds with DND, in the Ottawa area in support of Distributed Synthetic Training (DST) exercises. There could be some occasional travel.

Tasks
  • Coordinate updates to exercise planning milestone materials on the Dashboard
  • Coordinate technical requirements and scheduling required for assigned exercises with the Exercise and Simulation Branch.
  • Collaborate on a continual basis with the CAF and RCAF participants in addition to the Exercise Hosting units and Directors.
  • Organize and coordinate the hotel accommodations and rental car bookings as required.
  • Support staff-checking of Requests for Information
  • Deliver support at exercise event as needed.
  • Briefing leadership, participants and other stakeholders assigned to the Exercises.
  • Provide feedback and advice to scenario developers or computer-generated forces technical team members.
  • Predict implications of network architecture issues (managed by others) to anticipate and mitigate impact on training audience and other training partners.
  • Support Lead Planners where required, particularly for Canadian hosted DST exercises and activities, which entail a higher degree of effort for the “Exercise and Simulation” branch.
Qualifications
  • Experience using at least 1 of the common synthetic environment / computer general forces software applications such as
    • JSAF, VBS, VR Forces, AWSIM in a military training environment.
  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following:
    • Coordinating military combat operations or exercises for the Canadian Armed Forces or for an allied military
    • Coordinating simulated combat operations or exercise for the Canadian Armed Forces or for an allied military.
  • 5+ years of experience: planning, leading, briefing and/or debriefing operational military teams or preparing communication plans, or doing operations analysis.
  • Experience in exercise planning, developing, conducting of DMT (Distributed Mission Training) collective training exercises
  • Experience participating in coalition (joint or combined) military DMT (Distributed Mission Training) exercises.
  • A strong asset – to come with any type of military leadership experience and experience coordinating movements/logistics for personnel on an exercise
Additional Information
  • Must be available for on-site full-time work (and flexible to work at various Ottawa locations as needed - depending on location of training exercise)
  • There could be occasional travel to Trenton, and other bases as needed.
  • Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance, as well as a Controlled Goods Certificate.
