Advisor, Government and Industry Affairs - Ottawa (Temporary 12 months)

ResponsibilitiesPublic Policy Monitoring, Research and Briefing:
Monitor developments related to Bombardier’s political and strategic objectives, prepare briefing documents and presentations, conduct research on public policy, ensure timely communication to key actors, internal consultations on public policy issues, formulate positions.
Government, Parliamentary and Industry Stakeholder Outreach and Monitoring:
Provide liaison services to Bombardier units in relations with federal, provincial and foreign governments, keep an expanding log of key files and contacts, develop and implement strategies to expand the company’s reach and visibility, develop and implement advocacy strategies and tactics to address policy and regulatory issues.
- Minimum five (5) years of related experience in Parliamentary Affairs, Government.
- Bachelor’s degree in public affairs or a related discipline.
- Knowledge in Affairs, Public Affairs or International Affairs/Trade.
- Excellent communication skills, English and French (both spoken and written).
- Familiarity with senior levels of Government and related institutions.
- Excellent knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and social media platforms.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Excellent judgment.
- Ability to work within short deadlines and under pressure.
- Strong team player and good communicator.
- Customer service oriented.
- Motivated and organized.
- Good protocol skills.
- Autonomous and dynamic.
- Flexible in terms of availability.
The base salary for this position is expected to range from CAD $56,500 to CAD $88,800 per year, determined based on skills, experience and qualifications. In some cases, the base salary may differ from the expected range.
