Senior Financial Crime Risk Investigator; HRI-Special Investigations
Responsibilities
Conduct end‑to‑end investigations of higher‑complexity and high‑sensitivity cases, primarily focusing on money‑laundering, terrorist financing, sanctions, ABAC, and financial crime. Apply sound methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze evidence, staying current on global emerging risks and technology threats. Assess and prioritize files, investigate assigned cases, and ensure proper protocols are in place and effectively applied. Work effectively with counterparts at other financial institutions, law enforcement, non‑profits, and government agencies to maximize information sharing and reduce exposure.
Identify and communicate procedural weaknesses, industry and typology risks, and trends for respective program areas. Maintain and establish relationships with internal partners (HR, Employment Standards, Legal, etc.) for investigative purposes. Lead work streams and act as project lead for large or complex initiatives, evaluating processes, recommending enhancements, and championing improvements. Plan and deliver efficient, cost‑effective processes that support program implementation. Conduct internal and external research projects, support development and delivery of presentations, and adhere to enterprise frameworks.
Monitor service, productivity, and efficiency, implementing continuous process performance improvements. Exercise discretion in managing correspondence, information, and confidentiality, escalating issues where appropriate. Protect organisational interests, manage risks, and ensure thorough resolution of escalated high‑risk issues. Analyze functional or enterprise data, draw conclusions, make recommendations, and assess program effectiveness. Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements, maintaining a culture of risk management and control.
Participate fully as a member of the team, promoting a positive work environment, knowledge sharing, and mentorship. Lead, motivate, and develop relationships with internal and external business partners to foster productive working relationships. Contribute to a fair, equitable environment supporting a diverse workforce.
