The Senate of Canada seeks a qualified Lead Archivist to oversee the Senate Archival program. This senior position requires a deep understanding of archival science and at least 7 years of archival management experience. Key tasks involve providing expert advice to senior management, managing archival collections, and ensuring historical documents are preserved for future generations.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conceptualize and implement archival strategies and programs
• Provide authoritative guidance on archival matters
• Manage and preserve Senate corporate memory
• Curate and safeguard the Archives of the Senate and Parliaments
• Advise on policy and best practices for archival initiatives
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in relevant field preferred
• Minimum 7 years of archival management experience
• Expertise in preservation of archival collections
• Strong client service and relationship-building skills
• Proficiency in analytical research and presentation
