Senior Government Relations Advisor

Position: Senior Government Relations Advisor at Mitacs
Lead the federal government relations efforts at Mitacs and enhance its strategic partnerships. This role focuses on monitoring and implementing innovation policies to align with Mitacs’ objectives.

As the Senior Advisor for Government Relations, you will develop and execute comprehensive strategies at the federal level.

Your role includes advising on critical government policies, building relationships with key stakeholders, and driving strategic initiatives that enhance Mitacs' influence in the innovation ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement federal government relations strategies and partnerships

• Advise on federal policies and initiatives relevant to Mitacs

• Cultivate partnerships with government stakeholders

• Drive strategic capacity building within Mitacs and partners

• Engage stakeholders to increase Mitacs' visibility and influence

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in political science or related field

• 5+ years in government relations or public policy

• Experience with the Government of Canada

• Proven track record in relationship building across political parties

• Bilingualism in French and English required
