In this pivotal position, you will drive NCCM’s agenda by linking with decision-makers in Parliament. Your influence will shape public policies and legislative initiatives, while aiding in combating Islamophobia through effective advocacy strategies. You'll collaborate with senior leadership to identify new opportunities and ensure the community's needs are prioritized within government discussions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Shape and implement NCCM’s federal advocacy strategies
• Engage with senior leaders in the government and civil society
• Prepare and oversee policy papers and consultation submissions
• Monitor federal legislative developments for advocacy opportunities
• Lead mentorship for junior staff and interns
Requirements:
• Minimum 7-10 years in government or public policy roles
• Comprehensive understanding of government structures and processes
• Proven experience in engaging elected officials and stakeholders
• Advanced skills in policy writing and analysis
• Commitment to human rights and equity issues
Ensure success in advocacy efforts by leveraging your experience in federal relations for the benefit of Canadian Muslim communities.
