Position Summary:

The Relief Pharmacist assists the Pharmacy Manager and the Staff Pharmacist in all aspects of Pharmacy Operations.

• Ensure excellent patient experience; locate merchandise on the sales floor.
• Establish and develop a strong working relationship with Professional Services District Managers and other stakeholders.
• Accept prescriptions and/or refill requests from customers, doctors or hospitals.
• Ensure all prescriptions are filled accurately, efficiently, and safely using established workflow models; counsel patients on pharmaceutical products.
• Ensure proper storage of pharmaceutical products.
• Execute processes as per OBWs/SOPs.
• Operate all pharmacy equipment (register, computer system, etc.).
• Protect and maintain patient privacy and follow provincial regulations established by the regulatory body.
• Ensure patients receive all eligible services they are entitled to (medication reviews, injections, etc.) to meet specific patient needs.
• Follow OBW regulations as per the Relief Pharmacist program.
• Travel to various locations and follow the schedules set by the Relief program coordinator.
• Develop collaborative relationships with other health care providers within the store (clinics, Vision Centre, their community etc.).

• Age - 16 or older
• License - Pharmacist License (secondary optional permit in Alberta:  - Additional Prescribing Authorization)
