Position Overview
The Health Records Administrator (HRA) supports data collection, use, access and disclosure, to the retention and destruction of health information regardless of the format. This professional performs qualitative analysis on the documentation within the health record and is responsible for the security of health records. HRAs are the link for a patient’s right to access private, secure and confidential health information.
HRAs provides statistical information to the organization, Ministry and other regulatory bodies.

REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
• College Diploma in Health Information Management or equivalent
• Certificate for Health Records Administrators recognized by the Canadian Association for Health Records Administrators.
Skills / Abilities
• Demonstrated computer proficiency
• Knowledge of medical terminology in a healthcare environment;
• Knowledge of applicable legislation.
• Possess a working knowledge of both official languages.
• Must have a good attendance record.
• Must have a positive attitude compliant with HGH’s values
• Satisfactory review of the Human resources file
HOURS OF WORK:
Full-time - Temporary
Day
For an approximate period of 1 year or until the return of the position holder.
