Uprise Psychology & Wellness is seeking bilingual (English and French) a full-time registered psychotherapists with passion and interest for developing their clinical practice in CBT and Third Wave Psychology approaches to join our growing and thriving practice in Ottawa, ON.

About us

Uprise Psychology & Wellness is a thriving and busy private clinic specialized in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Third Wave approaches. Located in the heart of downtown Ottawa, we offer a variety of services, such as psychodiagnostic assessments, individual psychotherapy, therapeutic and wellness skills groups, supervision and clinical consultation services. In addition, we have an important network of colleagues in Ottawa and regularly partner with other health professionals to offer interdisciplinary services for a variety of challenges.

Psych., Uprise Psychology & Wellness offers services to people seeking help with a variety of challenges, including anxiety and depressive disorders, stress and burnout, low self-esteem, relationship issues as well as grief and loss. Additionally, Uprise Psychology & Wellness offers specialized services for those struggling with eating disorders, body image concerns and perinatal mental health as well as neurodivergent-related concerns (ADHD, ASD).

Our overall approach is compassionate, trauma informed, as well as evidence-based. Putting psychological safety at the heart of our practice, we offer a welcoming and supportive environment to facilitate flourishing for clients and team members alike.

Tasks
  • Provide psychotherapy services to clients mostly in-person
  • Conduct sessions utilizing evidence-based interventions
  • Develop, implement, and regularly evaluate case formulations and treatment plans according to individual client
  • Use the practice management tools for scheduling and record keeping
  • Provide supporting documents to third parties when necessary
  • Maintain a high level of clinical competence by participating in clinical supervision, professional development, and clinical training opportunities
  • Participate in team meetings as well as minor additional practice-related meetings, training and/or tasks
Requirements

The successful candidate must:

  • Have obtained or in the last stages of completion of a Master’s degree (M.A. or M.Ed.) in Counselling Psychology
  • Be registered with good standing with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario
  • Have professional liability insurance coverage
  • Have significant training and a key interest and commitment to further developing their therapy skills within CBT and Third Wave approaches
  • Have a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration with other therapists
  • Ability to offer psychotherapy services mostly in-person from our downtown office
  • Ability to offer psychotherapy services in the evening (5-8pm) at least twice a week
  • Experience and/or an interest in developing in the areas of speciality of the practice, including body image concerns, disordered eating, neurodivergence-related concerns and/or perinatal mental health would be considered a strong asset
We can offer you:
  • A full client caseload with adolescent and/or adult clients struggling from a variety of mental health concerns
  • Regular individual clinical supervision or clinical consultation with Dr. Melisa Arias-Valenzuela,

    C. Psych., depending on the clinician’s needs
  • Regular group supervision or consultation depending on the clinician’s needs
  • On-going support in the development of a practice in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy as well as Third Wave Therapies.
  • Support in developing an expertise in working with people struggling with eating disorders, neurodivergence-related concerns and/or perinatal mental health
  • An aesthetically pleasant in-person workspace
  • Access to our PIPEDA compliant-practice management software
  • Administrative support 5-days a week
  • A humane style of management and workplace culture which puts psychological safety at the heart of interactions with clients and clinicians
Reporting Relationship

The successful candidate will report to the Director of Uprise Psychology & Wellness, Dr. Melisa Arias-Valenzuela,

C. Psych.

Job Types: Full-time

Full-time hours: 15-25 direct client hours per week

Compensation to be determined in accordance with rates and qualifications
