Title : Technologist, Medical Radiation (MRT)
Employee Working Location : In-person (Canada)
Employment status : Deployed 3-4 weeks working full-time hours when deployed
Salary band : $41.23 / hour (eligible for pier diems, travel and accommodation covered by CRC)

- Perform, monitor, and report radiographic investigations and services as per medical orders, delivering safe, high-quality care in accordance with professional standards, clinical guidelines, and medical directives.
- Ensure the quality and safety of all radiographic services by operating equipment correctly and maintaining compliance with national standards, regulations, and health authority requirements throughout deployment.
- Conduct and contribute to clinical assessments of radiographic services, monitor patient outcomes, and support the continuous improvement of imaging protocols and operational practices.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team, on-site clinical leads, local health authorities, and partner agencies to promote efficient patient care and maintain effective communication channels during deployment.
- Manage, monitor, and ensure the safe, correct use and function of radiography equipment and associated medical supplies in line with operational and partner requirements.
- Maintain accurate documentation, data collection, and reporting that meets local legal requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational obligations.
- Support planning and delivery of radiography services as requested by the partner, including active participation in service monitoring and the implementation of new procedures or protocols.
- Mentor and build the capacity of clinical, non-clinical, and auxiliary personnel in radiographic practices as appropriate.
- Adhere to all deployment requirements, including flexibility across assigned shifts, completion of the CRC Learning Pathway and site‑specific training, currency of certifications and licensures, maintenance of professional indemnity coverage, and compliance with medical, safety, and infection prevention protocols.
- Work independently and responsibly in mobile or dynamic settings, upholding organizational and partner standards at all times.
- Academic qualification in Medical Radiation Technology (minimum 3‑year college diploma or university degree) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CAMRT certificate required.
- Current Professional Registration in good standing in at least one province in Canada.
- Professional certification or post‑graduate qualification in trauma/emergency radiation technology, humanitarian affairs, or a related field is an asset.
- Minimum 4–7 years of professional experience in medical radiation technology.
- Experience in a radiology department using hard copy films and analogue equipment.
- Experience operating portable X‑ray machines and other radiographic equipment in clinical or field settings.
- Experience monitoring equipment performance and conducting basic verification and quality control checks.
- Experience working in emergency, humanitarian, or resource‑limited contexts.
- Experience living or working in a cultural context other than their own, including Indigenous, remote, or isolated communities, is an asset.
- Ability to identify, investigate, and analyze equipment or service problems, determine root causes and risks, and apply technical knowledge to develop practical solutions.
- Proficiency in standard computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite).
- Experience in health needs assessment and the design or adaptation of radiographic service protocols in dynamic or non‑standard settings.
- Training, facilitation, coaching, and capacity‑building skills applicable to clinical, non‑clinical, and auxiliary personnel.
