Newborn Screening Laboratory Technician

Join a dedicated team as a Laboratory Technician for Newborn Screening Ontario. Engage in specimen preparation, testing, and contribute to a collaborative, patient-centered environment.

In this role, you will work within a cross-functional team, receiving and preparing clinical specimens for testing. Your responsibilities will include patient registration, non-complex testing, and coverage for colleagues during leave. Additionally, you will instruct medical laboratory students and support the quality assurance program to meet laboratory standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and verify clinical specimens for testing

• Prepare samples following lab protocols and standards

• Register patients and request tests in the LIS system

• Provide training for medical laboratory students and interns

• Assist co-workers in timely result processing

Requirements:

• Criminal Record Check completion

• OSMT or College Technician (MLA) Certificate

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Initiative and team collaboration in the lab

• Experience in newborn screening preferred
