Staff Psychologist, Share, Medical Unit – Temporary

A psychologist is required to provide psychological services to children and youth treated for oncological conditions. Services include behavioural, social‑emotional assessment, cognitive and psycho‑diagnostic assessment, and individual and group education and therapy. The Psychologist will function as part of an interdisciplinary oncology service, playing a large role in patient and family education groups and activities related to research, program development, and program evaluation.

• Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, focusing on diagnostic formulation and delineating the interplay between health and mental health issues.
• Offer consultation and treatment services for patients undergoing cancer treatment (active treatment or follow up).
• Liaise with other healthcare professionals regarding assessment findings, recommendations, and their implications for child/youth management.
• Coordinate with community services (e.g., schools).
• Provide supervision and training of pre‑doctoral psychology interns and offer learning opportunities to other student professionals.
• Assist and collaborate with program evaluation and development of research projects that reflect the interdisciplinary nature of the clinical services.
• Collaborate with other Psychologists to assist with coverage and backup during vacations and exceptionally busy times.

• Vulnerable Sector Check (Essential)
• Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA accredited program (Essential)
• Registration as a Psychologist in Ontario or eligibility for registration (Essential)
• Designated practice as a psychologist in the area of Clinical Psychology with children and adolescents (Essential)
• Knowledge of the interplay between health, mental health, and pediatric traumatic stress (Essential)
• Experience in health psychology (Essential)
• Experience in the provision of comprehensive psychological assessments to a pediatric medical and mental health population (Essential)
• Experience providing psychological intervention to children with complex medical and mental health conditions (Essential)
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with other health professionals (Essential)
• Bilingual – Fluency in both French and English (Preferred)
• Supervision experience (Preferred)
