Health Care Aide

Position: Health Care Aide at CHEO
Join CHEO in Ottawa as a Health Care Aide, where you will provide holistic patient care while working as part of a dedicated team. Contribute to the well-being of children and youth through direct support.

As a crucial member of the patient care team at CHEO, you will work under the supervision of Registered Nurses and support the healthcare needs of patients. Your responsibilities will include constant observation, assisting with patient transfers, and collaborating closely with nursing staff. This role requires a strong foundation in effective communication, organizational skills, and the ability to meet physical demands for patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide constant observation of assigned patients

• Assist with patient lifting, transfers, and ambulation

• Report patient status to nursing staff promptly

• Document care delivered on patient flow sheets

• Participate in ongoing education and quality improvement activities

Requirements:

• Personal Support Worker/Health Care Aide certificate or similar

• Effective written and oral communication skills

• Ability to work within a team setting

• Capacity to handle physical demands of the role

• Vulnerable Sector Check certification
