As an Addiction Counsellor, you will play a pivotal role in helping individuals navigate their recovery journey. This position involves conducting assessments, delivering therapeutic group classes, and fostering a compassionate environment. You will utilize cognitive behavioral techniques and provide essential crisis support, ensuring clients' progress towards recovery goals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct individual assessments to determine program suitability
• Facilitate cognitive behavioral and trauma-based classes
• Build strong helping relationships with clients
• Provide crisis counselling and make appropriate referrals
• Record client progress in clear, accurate logs
Requirements:
• Degree/diploma in Social Services with Addiction Concentration
• CCAC certification or near completion within one year
• Experience with marginalized populations in addiction services
• Proficiency in motivational interviewing techniques
• Clear Police Reference Check for Vulnerable Sector
