Respiratory Care Specialist at CHEO

In this role, your primary focus will be on the assessment and treatment of patients experiencing respiratory distress, including those in sleep studies. You will work in critical care settings and apply clinical guidelines while collaborating with a dedicated healthcare team. Providing education to patients and families will be essential to your role, ensuring they understand their treatment plans and options.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coordinate and implement respiratory care plans
• Conduct diagnostic tests, including polysomnography
• Provide ventilation support and oxygen therapy
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for patient care
• Deliver education on respiratory health to patients
Requirements:
• Essential:
College of Respiratory Therapy membership, BCLS
• Preferred: 3 years of pediatric experience, bilingual
• Experience in a sleep lab setting, mechanical ventilation
• Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is an advantage
• Strong teamwork and communication skills required
