DescriptionThe Clinical Assistant supports the delivery of clinical services by maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of examination rooms, ensuring appropriate stock levels of medical equipment and supplies, and adhering to infection prevention and control (IPAC) standards. The clinical assistant reprocesses reusable medical instruments in accordance with regulatory guidelines, coordinates equipment maintenance and repairs, and contributes to the safe and efficient operation of the Integrated Health Services (IHS).
RequirementsEssential
- Secondary School Diploma.
- Certification in Reprocessing Medical Equipment.
- Minimum of three years experience in a health care facility performing a similar role.
- Knowledge of health care supply and medical equipment vendors.
- Strong organizational, prioritization and time management skills.
- Proficient trouble-shooting skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the capacity to establish relationships and manage challenging situations.
- Demonstrated capacity to welcome and collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds including but not limited to 2
SLGBTQ+ and newcomers’ community. - Demonstrated flexibility, good judgement and initiative.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion.
- Proficient with Windows-based computer systems, in particular email and MS Word and databases.
- Ability to work in fast-paced environment with an inter-disciplinary team.
- Experience in the health and social services field.
- Medical Equipment Reprocessing experience in a hospital setting.
English, written and spoken.
French is an asset.
Salary$45,166 – $54,417/ annually
