Position: Full-Time Communications Officer Trainee

As a trainee in the Communications Branch, you will develop the skills needed to handle emergency medical situations effectively. This position requires you to respond to calls for medical assistance, provide crucial guidance, and efficiently dispatch paramedics and vehicles. Your training will be essential in ensuring optimal service delivery across the Eastern Ontario Catchment Area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and respond to incoming medical emergency calls

• Provide pre-arrival medical advice to callers

• Deploy the most efficient resources for emergencies

• Maintain communication with emergency service personnel

• Keep accurate records of dispatch operations

Requirements:

• One year of post-secondary education in a relevant area

• Four years of customer service experience

• Certification in Standard First Aid and CPR required

• Emergency Medical Dispatcher course is advantageous

• Flexible schedule for 24/7 shift work
