Become a crucial part of CHEO’s crisis intervention team as a Child and Youth Counsellor in Ottawa. This position focuses on delivering exceptional support to children with severe mental health issues.
Join CHEO, a leader in pediatric health, as you assess and implement care plans for patients and their families. You will collaborate with a dedicated team to create supportive environments through innovative programming and activities. This role also involves mentoring new staff and providing valuable learning experiences for students.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of patient needs
• Participate actively in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Design and implement engaging activities for treatment programs
• Support individual patients and their families with counselling
• Mentor new team members and students in best practices
Requirements:
• Graduate of a Child and Youth Counselling program
• Essential experience in paediatric psychiatry
• Certification in CPR/First Aid required
• Membership eligibility in Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counsellors
• Bilingual in French and English preferred
