Support safe medication dispensing at CHEO’s Kid Care Pharmacy while applying clinical expertise and sharing evening and weekend coverage. This hospital pharmacy setting serves pediatric care.
The Retail Pharmacy Technician title aligns with work involving medication dispensing, pharmacy supervision, sterile manufacturing, and clinical pharmacy practice. You will provide drug information to health care professionals and patients. The position also supports training, quality assurance, pharmacy programs, and medication safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Dispense medications safely, accurately, and efficiently
- Supervise pharmacy assistants and technicians’ work
- Provide drug information to care teams and patients
- Share evening and weekend pharmacy coverage
- Complete medication incident reports when required
- Clinical expertise in at least one pharmacy practice area
- Knowledge of current hospital and pharmacy policies
- Ability to maintain clean, orderly work areas
- Capacity to train and orient new personnel
- Ability to perform pharmacy student preceptor duties
