Summary of the role
We are looking to hire a Research Coordinator I to join Dr. Amy Hsu’s research team and support two research programs:
- Developed by Dr. Hsu and team, RESPECT is a collection of algorithms that uses information about an individual’s health to predict their survival ( ) – that is, how long they will live. Funded by CIHR, we apply implementation science frameworks and methods to guide the implementation and evaluation of RESPECT’s use in long-term care homes in Ontario and Alberta. This also includes creating tools and resources to support individuals, caregivers, and healthcare teams in using personalized life expectancy estimates generated by RESPECT to have meaningful care conversations and make informed decisions.
- The Immunization in Long-Term Care Program aims to deepen our understanding of the factors that shape vaccination decision-making, with the goal of improving immunization in long-term care homes. Drawing on evidence from this research, we work with long-term care residents, caregivers, staff, researchers, public health, and long-term care sector partners across Ontario, British Columbia, and New Brunswick to co-develop practical, evidence-informed strategies and resources that address barriers and strengthen immunization in this setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, including coordinating with our partner long-term care homes and patient advisors, and leading research activities (i.e., Research Ethics Board applications, interviews, analyses, and resource development) under the mentorship and guidance of the principal investigator. They will also assist the principal investigator in overall program development, including prioritizing program activities and contributing to grant applications.
