This is a remote, 1-year contract role within Canada that requires the ability to obtain Secret-level clearance. Preference will be given to candidates in the Greater Ottawa Area.
Position OverviewAs a Recruiter within our Engineering Services team, you will collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer requirements, efficiently fill positions, and build teams for both ongoing contracts and new business opportunities. You will also contribute to enhancing Calian’s recruitment methodologies, strategies, and processes through networking and research.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with stakeholders and review RFP documents to define position requirements.
- Analyze job requirements and develop targeted recruitment strategies to attract qualified candidates.
- Create job postings and advertising strategies to source niche talent pools.
- Continuously network with candidates, build relationships, and develop pipelines for specialized roles.
- Leverage recruiting tools like Linked In Recruiter and other sourcing platforms to identify and engage top talent.
- Build and maintain relationships with candidates, industry associations, and professional networks to expand sourcing opportunities.
- Qualify candidates for both new business opportunities and ongoing contracts through screening, interviews, and reference checks.
- Prepare detailed candidate presentations, aligning their experience with client requirements.
- Negotiate with candidates on compensation, terms of employment, and start dates.
- Maintain accountability for achieving divisional revenue and gross margin targets.
- Utilize recruitment tools and systems according to Calian’s standards.
- Represent Calian at virtual career fairs, build relationships with candidate sources, and engage in networking activities.
- Participate in quarterly in-person meetings in Ottawa to collaborate with the team and enhance recruitment strategies.
- Stay informed on industry trends, best practices, and market insights through research and professional development.
- Take initiative to improve recruitment processes and contribute to team-wide efficiency and innovation efforts.
- Post-secondary education preferred.
- One year of proven recruiting success in a relevant environment.
- Experience in technical recruitment is a strong asset.
- Proficiency in leveraging recruitment tools such as Linked In Recruiter, Microsoft applications, and AI-driven tools to enhance sourcing and hiring strategies.
- Must be eligible for Secret-level clearance.
