We are Systematix and we are looking for an SAP Senior Payroll Consultant for an upcoming opportunity with a public sector client. The ideal candidate must already possess a security clearance at the Reliability level (Level I) or higher. The expected start date for this one-year contract (with possibility for extensions) is August 1st, 2026.
About the ProjectThe objective of this contract is to provide technical support for Legislative requirements in support of Payroll. SAP Payroll module is being used to pay approximately 23,000 employees belonging to multiple unions.
About the Responsibilities- Configure, Build and Test SAP Payroll and related modules as it pertains to Payroll Legislative/
Mandatory requirements: - Implementation of changes as a result of union agreement changes and grievances; federal or provincial legislative changes.
- Provide daily support to Payroll client, investigate, and correct technical issues as required.
- Annual SAP support packages upgrade in support of year-end legal changes pertaining to pay and tax legislation.
- Document detailed business requirements describing the steps by steps required to create new configuration or changes to existing documents.
- Document test criteria, test scripts and cases supporting the functional and integration testing efforts.
- Provide Technical expertise, guidance and knowledge transfer as required to internal staff.
- 10 years of experience in providing production support for SAP application.
- 10 years of experience with SAP version ECC 6.0.
- 10 years of experience with configuration of Payroll including pay journal, pay rules and schemas.
- Experience with end-to-end processing and configuration, including integration points and GL postings and testing configuration through the SAP landscape.
- 5 years of experience in applying and testing SAP Support packs including year-end payroll support pack changes.
- 10 years of experience with configuration of Time Management rules and schemas including work schedules, absences, attendances and quotas.
- Experience with production and balancing of T4’s and T4A’.
- 5 years-experience with working in an environment with multiple union agreements.
- Experience with supporting Fiori Pay and Time applications would be desirable.
- Experience supporting Workforce Solution would be desirable.
- A three-year university degree or three-year college diploma in Computer Information Systems or a related discipline.
- SAP Certification in HCM specifically Payroll, Time. Respondents should include the applicable documentation showing the certification.
- Professional development course related to SAP HCM, Payroll, Workforce Solution or related technologies.

Pay DisclosureThe average hourly pay range for this field is as follows:
- Junior:0–5 years of experience – $40-75/hr
- Intermediate:6–9 years of experience – $60-100/hr
- Senior:10+ years of experience – $90-150/hr
Compensation is commensurate with these standards; exceptions may apply based on experience, skills, and market conditions.
