Job Description
The Systems Engineer will work within our client's Architecture team, collaborating closely with counterparts to shape systems deployed by the Canadian Army.
Responsibilities
Translate business and operational requirements into technical solutionsSupport architecture decisions for complex enterprise and distributed systemsShape technical scope and requirements for System of Systems for complex communication technologyReview and contribute to Enterprise System Models for trade studiesDocument technical capabilities for future reference and trainingDevelop program and technology roadmaps aligned with business strategyMentor junior engineers and drive technical innovationEssential Skills
Minimum 8+ years of practical experience in software, hardware, or systems engineering/architectureProven experience in leading large-scale system designsAbility to work effectively both independently and in a team environmentDemonstrated success in collaborating with diverse stakeholdersExperience with communication systems and technology in an aerospace and defense contextAbility to break down large-scale projects into smaller, manageable componentsAdditional Skills & Qualifications
Networking experience, including IP Routing and Cisco RoutersHardware experience, including PCB and codingStrong understanding of software and system development life cyclesFamiliarity with software development trends and enterprise systems modeling toolsKnowledge of enterprise architecture frameworksUnderstanding of cloud migration strategies and technologiesSecurity and compliance expertiseExperience with Dev Ops practices implementationKnowledge of virtualization trends and technologies such as Microservices and ContainersJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Ottawa, ON.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $50.00 - $60.00/hr.
