Junior IT Infrastructure Specialist
Free Balance is an international software development organization supporting clients and teams around the world. We are looking for a motivated Junior IT Infrastructure Specialist to join our Corporate IT team on a part-time basis and support end users, devices, and internal IT systems in a secure and collaborative environment.
The Junior IT Infrastructure Specialist (Part-Time) provides day-to-day IT support for employees and assists with maintaining Free Balance’s corporate IT environment. This role is ideal for someone early in their IT career who is looking to gain hands-on experience while working a reduced schedule
. The position focuses on user support, device management, and foundational IT operations, with opportunities to learn and grow.
- Install, configure, image, and maintain Windows laptops, desktops, and peripherals
- Provide first- and second-level technical support to users across multiple locations
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and basic connectivity issues
- Assist users with onboarding, offboarding, and daily IT requests
- Assist in managing corporate devices using endpoint management tools (e.g., Manage Engine)
- Maintain accurate device inventory and asset records
- Support laptop provisioning, updates, and patching following IT standards
- Identity & Collaboration Tools
- Support user accounts and access in Google Workspace
- Assist with basic Microsoft services and license management
- Help maintain proper access controls and follow least-privilege principles
- Assist with troubleshooting local network and VPN connectivity issues
- Escalate complex network problems to senior IT staff or vendors
- Follow cybersecurity best practices for devices and user access
- Assist with endpoint protection monitoring and basic incident response tasks
- Support IT documentation and compliance-related activities
- Create and maintain clear IT documentation and user guides
- Assist senior team members with infrastructure improvement projects
- Basic administration and troubleshooting of Windows operating systems
- Fundamental understanding of Linux is a plus
- Familiarity with user account management, endpoint concepts, and basic networking
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Basic scripting knowledge (Power Shell or Bash)
- Exposure to IT ticketing or service management tools
- Interest in IT infrastructure and cybersecurity
- Willingness to learn and develop technical skills
- Organized, reliable, and detail-oriented
- Able to work independently and as part of a global team
- Security-conscious mindset
- Degree or diploma in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- 0–2 years of experience in IT support or a similar role
