ABOUTTHE OPPORTUNITY
As a member of the Cloud Engineering - SWAT team, you will support the overall success of Wind River cloud platform customers and partners. Our team is at the forefront of innovation in the telecom industry, and we are committed to delivering exceptional support to our customers and partners. You will be a key point of contact for our customers and partners, helping them to optimize their cloud deployments on our platform, which supports 5G and other telecom solutions for network core and edge.
You will collaborate closely with telecom customers and partners to understand their unique cloud deployment needs and ensure they are fully supported throughout their journey with our platform.
You will serve as the initial point of contact for investigating customer issues, providing prompt and effective resolutions to ensure customer satisfaction.
You will maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, acting as their primary engineering liaison for any inquiries, technical issues, or support needs.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide Tier 3/4 level customer support, troubleshooting platform and software issues for internal teams, customers, and partners.
- Work as part of a team focused on customer and partner priority and remediation
- Work with the most dynamic and exciting open-source software projects today – Kubernetes, Open Stack, Kube Virt , Helm, Ansible, Puppet, OSTree .
- Develop and deliver platform troubleshooting and test features with high quality design and code.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in Open Stack and related core. technologies, incorporating them into the platform where appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve issues reported during product verification for customers and partners
- Serve as point of contact for investigating, resolving, and communicating issues with customers and partners
- Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 5+ years of professional software development or SRE experience with Bachelor’s
- 2+ years of programming experience with Python
- 2+ years of programming experience with C/C++ preferred
- 1+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- 3+ years of professional experience in building infrastructure software for highly scalable and distributed systems or performing SRE functions for cloud platforms
- Passion for mentoring other developing engineers
- Strong analytical and debugging skills.
- Prior telecom experience including 5G, ORAN, VRAN, network cloud
- Deep understanding of Open Stack architecture and components, including Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, and others
- Working knowledge of Containerization, Kubernetes (K8S), Open Stack, etc.
- Track record of building and delivering mission critical, 24x7 production software systems
- Contribution to Open Stack community or related other open-source projects
