Position: Product Designer (UX/UI)

Engineering Full Time Ottawa, ON Hybrid $80,000 - $110,000 CAD per year

RVezy is an innovative travel experience company that brings aspiring vacationers and RV owners together. Founded in 2016, we provide a platform for RV rentals available across most of Canada and the United States.

We’re looking for a Product Designer to join RVezy as our sole in‑house designer. This is a hands‑on individual contributor role with a ton of ownership and impact across the product experience.

You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, and leadership to create intuitive, thoughtful experiences for RV owners and renters across our platform. From early ideas and user flows to polished UI and implementation support, you’ll own the design process end‑to‑end and help shape how design evolves at RVezy.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in fast‑moving environments, enjoys autonomy, and loves turning messy problems into simple, user‑friendly experiences. Bonus points if you’re excited about using AI tools to work smarter, move faster, and bring ideas to life more efficiently.

This opening is for an existing role.

Key responsibilities
  • Own the end‑to‑end design process across web and mobile experiences, from discovery to final implementation
  • Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to identify user problems and design effective solutions
  • Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high‑fidelity UI designs
  • Improve and maintain consistency across the product experience and design system
  • Translate business goals, user needs, and technical constraints into intuitive product experiences
  • Conduct lightweight user research, usability testing, and feedback gathering to inform design decisions
  • Partner with Engineering during implementation to ensure high‑quality execution
  • Prioritize and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Help shape and mature design practices, collaboration, and processes within the organization
  • Utilize modern tools (including AI‑powered workflows where appropriate) to increase efficiency, support ideation, accelerate iteration, and improve the quality of design outcomes
Competencies, skills, and attributes
  • 5+ years of experience in Product/UX/UI Design
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating thoughtful product thinking, UX problem‑solving, and polished visual design
  • Experience working in a startup or high‑growth environment with a high degree of ownership and ambiguity
  • Strong proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools such as Figma
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands‑on execution
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills across technical and non‑technical teams
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage competing priorities independently
  • Comfortable receiving and incorporating feedback while confidently advocating for user needs
  • Pragmatic, adaptable, and solutions‑oriented mindset
  • Curiosity and willingness to continuously improve workflows, tools, and processes
  • Interest and comfort in leveraging AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, creativity, research, and collaboration
  • Have experience designing marketplace, travel, mobility, or consumer‑facing products
  • Have worked as a sole designer or on small, highly collaborative product teams
  • Have experience building or contributing to scalable design systems
  • Are comfortable facilitating product discovery conversations and influencing product direction
  • Have experience using AI tools in your design workflow (e.g. for research synthesis, ideation, content generation, prototyping, or productivity improvements)
  • Have familiarity with analytics, experimentation, or user behavior data
  • Enjoy working in fast‑moving environments where you can make a visible impact
  • Have an interest in travel, outdoor adventure, or the sharing economy space
Location

The role will require you to work from our office in Centretown 2-3 days per week.

  • RVezy stock options (we believe every colleague should be an owner).
  • Fifteen paid vacation days with extra time off over the winter holidays.
  • Health and dental benefits from day one.
  • Bonus plan connected to company goals.
  • One paid weeklong RV rental trip every year.
  • Opportunities to attend festivals, concerts, and RV shows across Canada and the U.S.
  • Frequent social events and a steady supply of coffee and snacks in the office.
  • Dog‑friendly work environment in the Ottawa office.
  • Flexible work hours and a relaxed dress code.
  • Company laptop and equipment provided.
