Senior Solutions Architect Public Sector

Job Overview

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Solutions Architect to help design and deliver advanced cloud computing solutions to Canadian Federal Government customers. You will be a member of a dynamic team, bringing the latest disruptive cloud computing technology to solve difficult and impactful challenges within this vertical, and will play a key role in business development and sales as part of the larger AWS Worldwide Public Sector team.

• Learn about AWS services and solutions.
• Advance the sales cycle by explaining AWS services and solutions to customers.
• Advocate on behalf of customers for new features and capabilities.

As a solutions architect within the sales organization, you will meet with customers to understand their business and technical challenges, crafting solutions that leverage AWS products and services. A portion of your time will be dedicated to learning and experimenting with the latest technologies.

Solutions Architects are regarded as technical thought leaders who evangelize emerging technologies at both conceptual and practical levels. They play a critical role in advancing cloud computing capabilities within the public sector, providing cost‑effective, time‑saving, and secure solutions that meet mission and technical goals.

• 10+ years of experience in specific technology domains such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, or data & analytics.
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructure.

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
• Experience with presentations and speaking to executives, IT, management, and developers.
• Experience in a technical role within a sales organization.
