Network Security Engineer (Contract)

Compensation: $95-120/hour INC

This is an exciting opportunity to join a large, complex organization within a critical infrastructure environment, supporting a major data centre migration initiative. You will play a key role in ensuring secure and seamless application transitions by working at the intersection of network security, infrastructure, and application teams. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders to analyze application communication flows, implement firewall policies, and maintain system integrity throughout the migration.

- You’ll analyze firewall logs and traffic patterns to identify and validate application communication flows
- You’ll translate business and technical requirements into firewall policies and rule sets
- You’ll implement and test firewall configurations to ensure secure and reliable connectivity
- You’ll troubleshoot network and security issues in a production environment
- You’ll document application dependencies, configurations, and changes to support audit and operational needs
- 8-10 years of progressive experience in network security within enterprise environments
- Hands‑on expertise with Check Point technologies, including Security Gateways, MDS, Smart Console, and GAIA
- Strong experience creating, implementing, and troubleshooting firewall rules
- Proven ability to analyze logs and resolve connectivity issues
Experience working in structured, high‑availability or production environments - Exposure to load balancing concepts, including L4 and L7, is an asset
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical teams
