Work Hours:
Full-Time (37.5 hours per week)
On-Call (will be required; Bank standard is to pay 1 hour per 24 hour on-call period)
Overtime (may be required)
Describe: The selected Consultant will be required to be on-call during support weeks (every 4-6 weeks) and may be required to work during non-standard business hours.
Duration: 1 year

Consultant must have the ability to obtain:
Secret Status (required) – processed by the CLIENT if selected to hire) (Consultant must reside in Canada for a minimum of 5 years to be eligible to apply for Bank of Canada Security Clearance)
Work Location:
Ottawa, ON - Hybrid (required 12 days on-site per month)
The Consultant will be responsible for providing the following Services to the Bank:
Under the direction of the Assistant Director, Core Platform and Infrastructure Services
- Provide direct support to projects and platform operations, deploying, maintaining, and upgrading our Windows server environment, both on-premise and cloud
- Provide ongoing level 2 technical support, maintenance, and improvement to Bank environments
- Provide direct support through a ticketing system (ServiceNOW) to application owners, developers, and related internal and external teams
- Create thorough and detailed documentation (SOPs) of all changes, upgrades, procedures, user/vendor interactions, and root cause analysis
- Recommend ways to improve performance, quality, and efficiency
- Other related activities and deliverables, as required
The Consultant should have the following qualifications and skills:
- University degree or college diploma in computer science, information technology or a related field
- A minimum of three (3) years of recent relevant work experience with supporting critical applications in a hybrid environment
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated experience in Windows Server systems, with solid abilities in administering Microsoft Group Policies and Microsoft SCCM
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated experience in performance and capacity monitoring for critical servers
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent demonstrated ability to develop and support Infrastructure as Code (IAC) with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Azure, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with the maintenance and upgrading of Windows 2016 – Windows 2022 Server Environments
- Demonstrated advanced understanding of Windows server support
- Demonstrated knowledge of a scripting language, such as Ansible playbooks, Power Shell or Python
- Demonstrated ability to create automation scripts, deploy orchestration and automation processes and products
- Demonstrated ability to make technical decisions needed to support a multi-tiered large-scale highly isolated production environment
- Demonstrated experience applying a product and service-oriented mindset, including end-to-end ownership and accountability for resolution
- Demonstrated ability to rank tasks per priority, meet deadlines and perform multiple tasks concurrently
The following will also be considered:
- Demonstrated experience working with Change Management policies
- Demonstrated experience in creating documentation, Visio Diagrams, support documents, Knowledge Transfer sessions
