Our Ottawa based client is seeking experienced SAP Data Architect to join their project on a long term contract. The ideal candidates should have Canadian security clearance of at least Reliability level, with Secret preferred. This will be a hybrid role with the exact amount of on-site scheduled days to be confirmed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and manage the overall SAP data architecture, including data models, data flow, data integration, and data storage across SAP modules (e.g., SD, MM, FI/CO, PP, PM).
- Develop and enforce data governance standards, ensuring data quality, consistency, security, and compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
- Lead data migration strategies for SAP implementations, upgrades, or cloud transitions (e.g., SAP S/4
HANA), ensuring accurate extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) from legacy systems. - Optimize SAP data lifecycle management, including archiving, retention, and purging strategies to maintain system performance and reduce storage costs.
- Collaborate with functional and technical teams (business analysts, ABAP developers, basis administrators) to translate business requirements into scalable data models and integration solutions.
- Design and maintain SAP master data and transactional data frameworks, focusing on data structures for customers, vendors, materials, finance, and supply chain entities.
- Implement data integration between SAP and non-SAP systems (e.g., CRM, WMS, MES, BI platforms) using tools such as SAP PI/PO, SAP Data Services, or SAP HANA Smart Data Integration.
- Establish data quality metrics and monitoring processes, proactively identifying and resolving data anomalies, duplication, or inconsistencies across SAP environments.
- Document data architecture including entity-relationship diagrams, data dictionaries, interface specifications, and data lineage for audit and knowledge transfer purposes.
- Stay current with SAP data technologies (e.g., SAP HANA, SAP BW/4
HANA, SAP Datasphere) and recommend architectural improvements to support business growth and analytics needs.
