Position Summary
As a Database Administrator (DBA) in our North American Service Delivery group, you will be responsible for designing, developing and deploying highly secure database solutions for our national and international government customers. In this position, you will design, develop and provide ongoing support and tune and optimize their performance to ensure they remain highly available, reliable, and secure.
Core Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain database systems to meet organizational requirements.
- Collaborate with System Architects to plan DBMS capacity and hardware requirements.
- Install and configure the production system locally in advance of shipment to customer site.
- Train and support Developers and Local Service Providers (LSPs).
- Define database migration strategy and design replication topology and methodology.
- Develop migration procedures/scripts and perform the migration.
- Monitor database performance, identify issues, and optimize database performance.
- Ensure database security by implementing access controls, encryption, and other security measures.
- Develop and implement backup and recovery plans to protect data integrity.
- Provide support for database-related issues, including troubleshooting and resolving problems.
- Create and maintain documentation for database configurations, schemas, changes, processes, and procedures.
