- Develop and implement comprehensive IT security policies and procedures to protect organizational data and systems from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
- Monitor network traffic and security alerts to identify potential security breaches and respond promptly to incidents.
- Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests to evaluate the effectiveness of existing security measures.
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure that all hardware and software are configured securely and comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on security best practices and the importance of maintaining a secure working environment.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to proactively address emerging risks.
- Assist in the development of disaster recovery and business continuity plans to ensure the organization can respond effectively to incidents.
- Prepare detailed reports on security incidents, assessments, and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
- Liaise with external vendors and partners to evaluate and implement security solutions that align with organizational needs.
- Participate in security audits and compliance assessments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Support the incident response team in investigating security breaches and implementing corrective actions.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance the overall security framework of the organization.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in IT security or a related role, with a proven track record of managing security incidents and implementing security measures.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, or CIS Controls.
- Proficiency in security tools and technologies, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus solutions.
- Experience with network security protocols and practices, including VPNs, encryption, and secure network architecture.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements such as GDPR, HIPAA, or PCI-DSS, and the ability to ensure compliance within the organization.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+.
- Experience with cloud security and securing cloud-based applications and services.
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Power Shell) for automating security tasks.
