About the role
Join the Infrastructure and Operations team, in the Senior Manager, Data Operations position, where you will be accountable for the end-to-end operational management, reliability, and evolution of the organization’s data platforms and data engineering capabilities. This role ensures that data ecosystems, pipelines, and platforms are stable, scalable, secure, and performant, enabling reliable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. The role provides functional and people leadership to Data Engineers, translating strategy into operational execution, standards, and measurable outcomes.
What you'll do:
- Own and ensure the operational health, availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise data platforms and pipelines, including data ingestion, transformation, storage, delivery, and quality management.
- Lead and develop Data Engineering teams through coaching, performance management, skills development, workload prioritization, and fostering a culture of automation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
- Establish and enforce operational standards and engineering best practices for ETL/ELT processes, batch and near real-time data processing, version control, testing, deployment, and documentation.
- Manage platform operations and resilience, including incident, problem, and change management, while ensuring strong data integrity, quality, recovery capabilities, and business continuity.
- Oversee operational governance, compliance, and risk management by enforcing security, privacy, and data governance requirements, monitoring risks, and tracking key operational KPIs such as availability, reliability, recovery, and throughput.
- Drive platform modernization and optimization initiatives to improve scalability, stability, cost efficiency, performance, automation, and reduction of technical debt while evaluating operationally appropriate tools and technologies.
- Serve as the primary operational liaison across business and technical stakeholders, collaborating with analytics, BI, architecture, security, infrastructure, and IT operations teams on platform support, upgrades, monitoring, capacity planning, and operationalizing approved designs.
- Provide strong people and resource leadership by aligning teams, budgets, and priorities; promoting accountability, learning, diversity, inclusion, and bilingualism; and delivering outcomes such as stable and scalable data platforms, improved data quality and availability, reduced incidents, faster recovery times, and higher operational maturity.
