Under the supervision of the Senior Director IM/IT, The Manager IM/IT is responsible for developing, implementing and supporting a wide range of IM/IT services in response to the evolving business and technical requirements of the organization, corporate priorities and the enterprise architecture roadmap. As such, the Manager IM/IT is a leader who has a good understanding of both the IT strategic vision and how to operationalize that vision leveraging industry best practices such as the ITIL, NIST, ISO 27001, ITSG-33 or other recognized frameworks.

The Manager IM/IT is responsible for the operational management of the development and delivery of IM/IT services that are aligned with the strategic directions and operational goals established for the Standards Council of Canada (SCC).

Language: Bilingual Imperative (SISS)

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience and skills

  • 5–10 years of experience in a managerial role, leading an IT team, managing Service Desk operations, and responsibility for the cybersecurity program.
  • Knowledge of Council's mandate, program objectives, strategic plan and operational plan and the IM/IT policies and strategic plan; the immediate IM/IT requirements of staff as well as a long-term view of future needs and objectives; legislative and administrative policy requirements affecting the security of the IM/IT operations; trends and developments in systems analysis and programming techniques and system capabilities; and a network of contacts in the IM/IT field.
