The Translator/Reviser translates and revises a wide range of documents from English to French, ensuring accuracy, idiomatic expression, and adherence to CIHI’s terminology, style, and industry standards. This role involves quality control of translations produced by internal and external translators, mentoring junior team members, and acting as a key resource for translation‑related queries. The Translator/Reviser contributes to maintaining CIHI’s high linguistic standards and supports continuous improvement of translation processes.
Whatyou’ll do
- Undergraduate degree in Translation or a language‑related field
- 3–5 years of combined translation and revision experience, including experience mentoring or coaching other translators.
- Excellent knowledge of both official languages, with strong command of French syntax, usage, spelling, and terminology.
- Proven ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and translation and terminology management tools.
- Primary locations:
Ottawa. - Must comply with all CIHI workplace policies, including privacy and confidentiality.
- Fluency in both official languages is required.
