• Providing interpreting and other support services to deaf and/or hard of hearing students
• Facilitating communication among deaf and/or hard of hearing students and their hearing peers, the classroom teacher and other personnel in the school system
• Offering tutoring and/or note taking services to deaf and/or hard of hearing students when necessary
• Participating in team meetings and assisting the classroom teacher in fostering positive attitudes toward deafness
• Performing other duties as assigned by the Supervisor

• Secondary school diploma
• A three-year community college diploma in sign language interpreting
• 1.5 years of related experience
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to establish a rapport and work with individuals on a one-to-one basis
• Initiative and commitment
• Ability to work as a team member
• Individuals who possess an equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered

• Membership in the Canadian Association of Sign Language Interpreters (CASLI) and the Ontario Interpreter Services (O.I.S.)
• NVCI, CPR and First Aid

Hourly rate of $36.56 plus 4% vacation pay. The hourly rate effective as of September 1, 2025, is $37.56 an hour.
