Here's how a Materials Coordinator for the Centre Block Rehabilitation Project contributes to our team:

  • Support daily warehouse and materials management operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive workflows.
  • Complete assigned transactions in material, inventory, asset tracking, and related management systems to maintain accurate records and support operational visibility.
  • Coordinate equipment, resources, shipping, transfer, and delivery activities to meet project and operational requirements.
  • Assist with issuing, receiving, tracking, and maintaining inventory, materials, tools, equipment, and heritage assets in alignment with project and facility needs.
  • Maintain accurate asset tracking, inventory records, stock management processes, and related documentation to support periodic reviews, reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Support purchasing requests, requisitions, and related follow-up activities, including coordinating with procurement, suppliers, and internal stakeholders as required
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding material, equipment, shipment, or operational requirements, helping resolve discrepancies, delays, and other issues that may impact workflow.
  • Assist with developing and implementing storage solutions, warehouse layouts, space optimization initiatives, and process improvements to improve operational efficiency.
  • Complete and maintain operational documentation, including heritage asset inspections, pest management records, reports, SOPs, and other required records.
  • Support compliance with health, safety, environmental, regulatory, and project requirements, including inspections, audits, reporting, and documentation.
Qualifications
  • This position is primarily based at the Ottawa warehouse and requires regular travel between Ottawa and Gatineau facilities. As such, a valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
  • 1 year related industry experience in supply chain management, procurement, logistics, and/or warehouse distribution preferred.
  • High school diploma and/or working towards a postsecondary diploma/degree in a related discipline (e.g., supply chain management, procurement, logistics, warehouse distribution).
  • Basic understanding of facility setup and organization.
  • Strong verbal and written (expression and comprehension) communication skills.
