About the role

Join the Centralized Procurement team, in the Officer, Procurement position. In this role, you will help ensure the execution of sourcing, planning for business lines for sourcing files with moderate risk. This will include facilitating sourcing processes for goods and services, identifying and mitigating risk, drafting and negotiating contracts, providing advice and solutions, training and educating business units about procurement policies.

What you’ll do:
  • Collaborate with business lines to proactively plan sourcing and provide industry-specific expertise on procurement and sourcing strategies.
  • Coordinate limited tender process and negotiate contracts with the objective of obtaining the best value for CMHC.
  • Manage upstream procurement content and strategic supplier relationships, including collaboration opportunities, and resolve issues and disputes.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of procurement knowledge of other team members.
  • Interface with contract management stakeholders for processing and resourcing support.
  • Provide coaching and support to the junior procurement team and assist the Senior Officer with large files when requires.
  • Provide expertise and support for the development, implementation and management of corporate contracting policies and procedures.
What you should have:
  • A post-secondary education in business, business administration, finance, legal studies, or a related field.
  • A minimum of three (3) years' of public procurement experience, working in a diverse environment with experience facilitating bid processes, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of public procurement, privacy legislation, public sector procurement standards.
  • A customer service-oriented approach to procurement and contract management, with the ability to build effective working relationships, influence decisions, and provide sound sourcing recommendations based on business needs and procurement considerations.
