Job Summary
Reporting to TD Place Operations, you will be a member of the conversion/changeover crew. This role will assist in converting the arena from hockey mode, to concert, or other event modes (and back) and converting the stadium from football mode to soccer mode, to concert or other event modes (and back). In addition, you will ensure that any event preparation/setup required for shows or sporting events are to run safely and efficiently.
This is a replacement position and requires on-site work. The hourly pay for this part-time unionized position is $20.02.
What you’ll do- Must wear CSA approved safety footwear and other PPE at all times required.
- Convert the stadium, arena and Lansdowne Park spaces, potentially overnight, for event set-ups as needed.
- Assist in the set up and tear down of materials for events, including nets, goal posts, hockey glass, signage, flooring, stages, etc.
- Assist other departments with arranging set-ups for their event needs, in both indoor and outdoor spaces.
- Assist with daily maintenance and upkeep of equipment.
- Store equipment in safe and tidy condition and identify any broken items.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have CSA approved steel toe work boots.
- Any labour experience is an asset.
- Must have G Classed Driver’s License if driving a motorized vehicle on-site.
- Ability to do heavy lifting and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Demonstrate familiarity with tools and maintenance equipment.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and as a team member.
- Ability to work varied schedule including days, evenings, overnights and weekends.
- Work requires significant physical effort, walking (including stairs), and lifting heavy weights.
- Work requires utilizing tools and equipment that could cause physical injury if not handled and operated following safety practices and procedures.
- Work requires adhering to WHMIS and provincial Health and Safety requirements.
- Work requires being indoors and outdoors, rain or shine.
