Casual Housekeeping Aide at Extendicare Medex

Support residents of Extendicare Medex in Ottawa as a Casual Housekeeping Aide. Your responsibilities will include thorough cleaning and sanitization of living spaces and common areas to maintain hygiene.

This part-time role requires working from 8 AM to 4 PM or 11 AM to 7 PM. You will implement cleaning schedules, operate floor care machines, and promote resident rights while providing feedback based on your observations. This position requires effective communication and a collaborative approach to enhance quality of care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute cleaning tasks in resident apartments and shared spaces

• Employ cleaning and sanitation best practices routinely

• Manage waste, ensuring safe disposal in designated areas

• Document cleaning tasks following residence policies

• Engage in continuous training and quality improvement initiatives

Requirements:

• Good English communication abilities

• Previous experience in any cleaning setting preferred

• Capability to work independently and meet job demands

• Willingness to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check

• Ability in a second language is an asset
