Maintain school facilities with The Upper Canada District School Board as a Custodian skilled in cleaning and general maintenance.
Under Facilities Operations Manager supervision and Head or Lead Custodian direction, this Custodian supports a specific worksite. The position requires cleaning methods, equipment operation, minor repairs, and building maintenance. Custodians work independently and within teams across multiple worksites.
Key Responsibilities:- Clean and disinfect classrooms, washrooms, furnishings, and floors
- Strip, wax, spray buff, and polish floors
- Replenish classroom and washroom supplies
- Operate cleaning equipment and remove waste
- Perform painting, repairs, adjustments, and assigned building work
- Secondary school diploma and six months relevant experience
- Basic cleaning, painting, mechanical, and plumbing knowledge
- Ability to recognize repair problems and operate equipment
- Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
- Ability to work independently and within teams
