Manager of Property Services
Salary: $84,864–$102,024 per year
Type: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Ottawa, ON (on-site, with travel across properties)
We are seeking a Manager of Property Services to oversee maintenance, operations, and tenant relations across multiple owned and operated properties. This role is ideal for someone hands‑on, with strong property management and leadership experience, who can manage staff and contractors while ensuring safe, efficient, and well‑maintained facilities.
About the RoleThe Manager, Property Services will oversee all aspects of property management, including building maintenance, vendor and budget management, tenant services, and staff supervision. You’ll ensure compliance with building codes, health and safety standards, and organizational procedures while driving operational efficiency and cost‑effective practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee maintenance, repairs, and capital planning for multiple buildings (including offices and apartment buildings).
Manage vendor contracts, budgets, and cost‑saving initiatives; challenge contractor work and ensure market pricing.
Conduct property inspections, coordinate tenant move‑ins/outs, and respond to inquiries.
Supervise and develop staff; assign responsibilities, monitor schedules, and ensure adherence to safety practices.
Develop and enforce health, safety, and emergency preparedness procedures.
Implement property management software and systems (experience with software other than Yardi required).
Provide regular reports on property performance and budget status.
Degree in business administration, facility, property, or project management.
6+ years of property management experience, including staff supervision; non‑profit or social housing experience an asset.
Managerial experience and knowledge of landlord/tenant board processes and evictions within social support systems.
Experience in procurement and managing contractors.
Experience implementing property management software (currently no software in place).
Knowledge of building codes, OH&S, fire safety, and restoration work.
Strong budgeting, project management, and communication skills.
Valid driver’s license;
English fluency required, French an asset.Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
