Reporting to the Director of Finance, the selected incumbent will be tasked with the timely and accurate processing of bi-weekly payroll while managing and mentoring the payroll team. The ideal candidate is an experienced manager who is able to naturally find ways to improve processes while working closely with their team.
Main responsibilities include:
Manage bi-weekly payroll and ensure accurate deductions and compliance with applicable regulationsProvide guidance and supervision to payroll staff, conduct performance reviews and develop workload, priorities and goals and provide ongoing feedbackEnsure payroll system accuracy and implement applicable controls and audits, assist with any system upgrades or modificationsAct as point of contact for payroll related employee inquiriesPrepare monthly payroll and pension plan remittances and reconcile to general ledgerResponsible for auditing, balancing and submitting all payroll related government payments and reportingPrepare fiscal accruals and ensure salary, pension and group benefit data is accurate and in accordance with obligationsSupport multiple annual audits and participate in internal and external committeesOther duties as requiredThis is a fantastic organization to be a part of, and an opportunity that doesn’t come up often. Qualifications:
The main qualifications for this role include:
PCP or CPM designation is mandatory5+ years previous experience, including time in a supervisory roleExcellent time management and problem-solving skillsStrong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)Assets:
