General Labour

The incumbent reports to the Plant Supervisor and Plant Supervisors.

• Perform general labour production in accordance with established standards and daily deadlines;
• Follow and promote all Safety Rules and Regulations, wears all Prescribed Personal Protective Equipment, actively promotes and understands all relevant safety rules;
• Ensure that work procedures and instructions are adhered to;
• Ensure that the correct tools are being used to inspect the quality of the product being produced;
• Report all non-conformances to the Plant Supervisor;
• Report any defective moulds or moulds requiring repair to the Plant Supervisor

• Be clocked in and report to work station in required PPE for scheduled shift start time
• Follows work instructions as trained
• Check mould for debris
• Clean out mould with air hose and oil moulds
• Rake, level, tamp and screed on finish Concrete within time required and to the required levels
• Install plastic rebar chairs, wire mesh, rebar and lifting inserts within the time required
• Place and check rebar in the castings to specification if any
• Make sure moulds are cleaned properly
• Check products for obvious visible damage
• Ensure that any defective product is reported to the Plant Supervisor
• Train and assist other hourly employees as required
• Support projects and training as required to generate business results and expand skill set
• Ensure Line Area is clean at the end of each shift and all tools are cleaned and returned to their designated areas
• Ensure you are following and applying LEAN principles
• Ensure the shop floor is a showcase for our customers
• Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations; as well as, the Company Health and Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities. Promote company’s safety vision.
• Ability to work other shifts as required
• Other duties as assigned
