Tank Farm Labourer; Evening

Overview

8 Weeks of Training on the overnight shift. Be trained for and enter Confined Spaces, such as bulk tanks, tankers, and vacuum trucks for cleaning. Receive all client waste – both bulk liquids/solids and containerized. Ensure waste is processed in a timely and safe manner. Prepare shipments of hazardous and non-hazardous waste for transport. Ensure incoming waste conforms with acceptance protocol.

Load and unload waste vehicles including vacuum trucks, tankers, straight trucks, and van trailers. Take samples from waste vehicles and containers for lab analysis. Operate plant machinery including pumps and pressure washers; and assist with general maintenance. Gain a full understanding and working knowledge of the company’s standard operating procedures (SOPs), and ensure they are followed. Complete paperwork properly & ensure it is submitted.

Complete job hazard risk assessments. Ensure superior customer service is provided. General shop clean-up and maintenance. Attend Household Hazardous Waste collection events on weekends. Other tasks as required.

• Must be clean shaven. (for respirator usage)
• Physically fit (repetitive lifting of hoses and shoveling of soil)
• Must be good with working at heights (climbing up to catwalks above tanks to dip them, climbing on top of tankers and trucks to sample them)
• Vaild driver’s license
