Job Description

We’re partnering with a global leader in advanced medical technology manufacturing to hire an Electromechanical Technician. In this role, you’ll support and maintain highly specialized manufacturing equipment across five production lines. You’ll join a collaborative team of 18 skilled technicians working in a fast‑paced, innovative environment where quality, precision, and reliability matter.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical controls maintenance (approx. 40% of the role).
• Complete mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting (approx. 60%).
• Execute daily and biweekly preventative maintenance, cleaning, and equipment care.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment issues quickly and effectively.
• Support process, product, equipment, and component validations/verification activities.
• Follow change control and maintenance processes aligned with medical device manufacturing standards.
• Document tasks and communicate clearly in both written and verbal formats.
• Balance independent work with collaborative teamwork.
• Adapt to a dynamic production environment and shifting priorities.
• Interact professionally with colleagues at all organizational levels.
• Perform tasks requiring manual dexterity, color differentiation, and extended standing/walking, including occasional kneeling and crouching.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong aptitude for troubleshooting electromechanical machinery.
• Diploma in Electromechanical, Electrical, or Mechanical Technician studies—or a combination of education and relevant experience.
• Experience with electro-mechanical equipment assembly, operation, and maintenance.
• Mechanical and/or automation aptitude for root cause analysis and problem-solving.
• Experience in medical device or electronics manufacturing (strong asset).
• Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Work Environment

• Fast‑paced, noisy manufacturing environment with high activity.
• Flexibility required for overtime and shift work.
• Shifts rotate between days and nights on an eight‑week cycle.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ottawa, ON.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Ottawa,ON.
